How to do a Half-up Top Knot with a Flat Clip

Ready for a long and medium hair hairstyle that is easy-to-style, holds comfortably all day, works for business, school, the gym, and fun? We’ve got you covered!

The half-up top knot only takes a minute to style, and when it's done with a flat hair clip from TELETIES, you can comfortably set your head back against a chair in a meeting or during a yoga class.

Best of all this hairstyle only takes a minute to do if your hair is already smoothed out from tangles and knots.

You will need:

  • A hair brush
  • 1 hair tie (optional if you want the bun extra secure or flat clip below)
  • 1 flat hair clip
  • Finishing spray (optional)

To create this look:

  1. Brush knots and tangles out of your hair.
  2. Section off the top half of your hair from temple to temple.
  3. Gather the top section into a high ponytail.
  4. Twist the ponytail around itself to form a bun and secure it with a hair tie if you want the bun to hold more tightly.
    1. Or you can secure the ponytail with the hair tie and tuck the tip of the bun under it.  You can always use two hair ties as well.
  5. Place the flat hair clip at the base of the bun, or secure it over the bottom portion like in the image above for added style and hold.
  6. Style the bottom half of your hair however you’d like.
It’s easy to create this look and it is professional enough for the workplace, fashionable enough for a first date, and comfy enough to carry you from morning to night. If you found this hairstyle guide helpful, subscribe below for more just like it.
