3 Long Hair Hairstyles Perfect for Holiday Baking

There’s nothing like the scents of ginger, peppermint, and cinnamon when it comes to holiday baking.

The happy memories that surface from childhood baking with grandma, to new ones where you decorate cookies with your family and friends for an exchange. And don’t forget the fun of making cookies with your kids for Santa.

If you have long hair, or its your daughter’s first time to be hands on with holiday cooking, we have you covered.

Each of the following long hair hairstyles:

  • Leaves hair loose to relax so you can rehydrate it from the dry winter air and heated tools.
  • Keeps hair secured so flour and powdered sugar can’t cover it.
    • Less washing means less pulling and drying out so it can recover.
  • Will not get tangled in an apron if you need to leave the kitchen or have to run an errand.
  • Has accessories that add pops of color to get your holiday spirit going.

Best of all, each look is stylish so you not only have fun, but you’ll look fabulous doing it!  If you’re ready for some holiday cheer, here’s three long hair hairstyles perfect for holiday baking.

Bubble Braids

Bubble braids are easy to do and perfect for holiday baking. You can use spiral hair ties, scrunchies, or butterfly and mini hair clips for pops of alternating holiday colors. Red and green for Christmas, blue and silver for Hanukkah, red black and green for Kawanzaa, or silver for sparkle season.

By placing the bubble braid to the back of your head instead of a side style, you can keep your hair out of the way and reduce the chances of it getting "caked" in flour or powdered sugar dusts.

  1. Brush knots and tangles out of your hair.
  2. Put your hair into a ponytail at the crown of your head with a hair tie, or just below the crown where you want the bubble braid to start.
  3. Using another hair tie, secure another section of your ponytail a few inches below your first hair tie.
  4. To create the bubble in between the hair ties, tease the section of hair to loosen it and create the bubble.
  5. Repeat these steps and add hair ties until you’ve reached the end of your ponytail.

Loose French Braids

A loose French braid won’t pull as tight on your scalp so it can heal, and the texture and movement are warm, comforting, and relaxing. And to add some holiday spirit, braid ribbon into your hair with a festive pattern or your favorite holiday prints.

French braids are a simple six step hairstyle that look great, hold comfy, and keep your hair secure so you can enjoy your time baking with family and friends, and not moving stray hairs out of your face.

  1. Split a small section of hair from the top of your head into three equal sections holding the middle and right sections in your right hand to keep them separate.
  2. Cross the right section over to the center and then do the same thing with the left section.
    1. Once the section is crossed over and into the center section, the section becomes the middle.
  3. Now take a small section from the front of your hair just below and add it to the right section, then cross it over into the center.
  4. Now grab a small section of hair towards the back of your head, add it to the left section, and cross it over the center.
  5. Keep gathering and adding your hair from the left and right until you reach the nape of your neck and all of your hair is in one of the three sections.
  6. Braid the bottom in a classic 3 strand braid and secure with a hair tie.

Claw Clip French Twist

Thanks to companies like ours, hair clip French twists are easy to do as our claw clips are made from nearly unbreakable materials so your hair won’t snap them, and they come in holiday colors, prints, and patterns with a new collection each year. Click here to see our holiday hair accessories, but please note the newest collection doesn’t drop until close to December.

This style secures your hair up and behind your head so it is perfect for baking, and they’re one of the easiest styles to release once you’re ready to let your hair down and relax.

  1. Remove knots and tangles by running your fingers or a brush through your hair.
  2. Collect your hair at the back of your head and gently pull it into a low ponytail.
  3. Hook your hair with two fingers around the base of the ponytail.
  4. Twist the ponytail so it coils into itself and you can fold it against your head from bottom to crown.
  5. Secure the twist into place with a claw hair clip being careful not to scrape your scalp.

These three long hair hairstyles are perfect for holiday baking. They let your hair relax so it can repair from blow dryers, curling irons, and dry winter air, while keeping your hair secured so it doesn’t get powdered, floured, or caked as you bake.
