Ready for a simple hairstyle for medium and long hair lengths that has texture, movement, and can be done in a few simple steps? The twisty half-up hairstyle is for you! It only takes a minute to style, and works for almost any casual setting.
Because your hair sits on or covers your shoulders, it is a perfect for chilly nights and casual strolls. But don't count it out for summer either! This is a beginner level hairstyle as it is easy to do, and works especially well for oval and triangle face shapes if you go without bangs.
You Will Need:
To Create This Look:
- Brush your hair to remove knots and tangles.
- Divide your hair horizontally about the same height as your temples so there’s a top and a bottom section.
- Split the top section into two sides down the center, and twist them at the back so they lay flat across the front of your head and form a twist towards the back of your head.
- Combine the two sides together in one hand and secure the two twists like a ponytail using the hair tie with the other.
- Now run your fingers through the lower section and style it however you’d like.
Once you get good at this style, have fun by creating multiple twists starting from the front of your hair or along the top. You can secure them together with a bobby pin at the back before you use the hair tie since you only have two hands. Or go up a skill level and incorporate braids into the sides.
And that’s it! Your new all-seasons casual look is ready to go. If you found this style guide helpful, subscribe to our blog below for more just like it.
